50 Million Americans (1 in 4 children) don't know where their next meal is coming from. The documentary film, A PLACE AT THE TABLE, tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, A PLACE AT THE TABLE shows how the issue could be solved forever, once the American public decides - as they have in the past - that ending hunger is in the best interest of us all.  WATCH THE FILM TRAILER
TREMOLINO is a quartet of Waldo County musicians with a passion for Portuguese Fado music featuring Leslie Stein, Chris Marshall, and Jim MacDonald. Fado, a unique musical sound, is a fiery, soulful folk song style characterized by passionate lyrics and mournful tunes. It  is said to be the oldest urban folk music in the Western world, representing the voice of the Portuguese soul, yet unfamiliar to many in Maine.
The SILENT AUCTION will feature specialty artwork created and donated by talented local artists and crafters throughout Waldo County will be on display and available for bidding throughout the evening.  Bid high, bid often and take your treasure home with you that evening!
HEARTY APPETIZERS AND DESSERTS featuring local ingredients, created by Monica of Crosstrax, will be available throughout the evening.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here or by calling 207-948-7469.  Tickets may also be purchased locally at Crosstrax.  As in previous years, all funds raised at this year’s Arts for Hunger event will be gifted to the following local groups that work to end hunger in our local communities:  the Volunteer Regional Food Pantry, People for People and The Open Door.
